A former director of the San Carlo Group is to bring a glamorous Bellini bar to Crosby Village, St. Modwen has announced.

The expert developer and regeneration specialist made the deal with Bruno Tollot to launch a new bar and restaurant as part of its continued investment in the village.

The name is yet to be revealed, but the restaurant will occupy a 1,991 sq ft unit in Crobsy Village next to Card Factory and Frankie’s Bar with an extensive fit-out currently taking place.

Commenting on the opening, Bruno said: “I’m so excited to be bringing a glamorous slice of Italy to Crosby Village.

“The regeneration that Crosby has undergone in recent years has been phenomenal, and it’s now become a destination in its own right, just as Formby or Bold Street have.

“As well as food and drink, we will be bringing one-of-a-kind live experiences and events to the restaurant.”

Diners and drinkers can expect an “authentic yet refined Italian experience”, as Bruno is aiming to offer a fresh steer on the cuisine found it other city centre Italian eateries. The atmosphere will be glamorous yet relaxed, and a top chef has been recruited to design the menu.

National cash management company Vaultex, which handles cash on behalf of high street banks and retailers, has also agreed a 10-year lease in Crosby Village on the 1,100 sq ft final unit in the Glenn Buildings North.

Andrew Day, Asset Manager at St. Modwen, said: “We are delighted to announce both lettings and add to the mix of retail and leisure operators in Crosby Village.

“The food and beverage offering in the village is growing stronger all the time, as we’ve also recently welcomed Frankie’s, The Blues Bar and Hard Times & Misery – meaning that there is a really great mix of independent bars and restaurants on offer.

“A bar and restaurant of this calibre is the perfect next addition to the scheme and will provide the Crosby community with an upscale place to relax which is in keeping with the rest of the area.”

Jonathan Thompson of Lambert Smith Hampton, agents for the scheme, said: “Both deals represent the success of Crosby Village as it continues to attract significant occupiers. These tenants will add further amenity to what is already a thriving town.

“The refurbishment works in Crosby have had significant impact in bringing additional tenants to the town. Recent deals include; Hallmark and Thorntons, Costa Coffee, Scouse Bird Problems, the Village Vets, Card Factory and Peacocks to name a few.”

St. Modwen began work on the redevelopment of Crosby in June 2017 after acquiring the site and securing planning approval from Sefton Council to develop 24,775 sq ft of retail, leisure and office space. Development and refurbishment works have included the Glenn Buildings and 10 Moor Lane.

The 12-month construction and refurbishment programme finished in April 2018 and has provided larger shop units to meet the needs of modern retailers.
