CRL sponsor Insider North West Housing Breakfast
CRL will be sponsoring the Insider North West Housing Breakfast later this month.
The Insider breakfast will see high profile names from the housing sector focus their discussion on housing for the Northern Powerhouse and look at the drivers for demand, development and delivery of housing across the North West.
The event is taking place at the Hallmark Hotel in Handforth, near Wilmslow in Cheshire on 24 May.
The panel will look at housing outside the city centres and topics up for discussion will include planning, funding, land supply and housing targets.
The government has embarked on the largest housebuilding programme since the 1970s as it looks to build a million homes by 2021. To create these, it has doubled the investment in housing to more than £20billion over the next five years and announced new initiatives including the £1.2billion Starter Home Fund to prepare brownfield sites for building.
As such, partnerships with local authorities will be critical, with 17 councils in the North West chosen to pilot brownfield registers. In addition, the Association of Greater Manchester Authorities is working to create a ground-breaking Spatial Framework for Greater Manchester to free up more land.
Steve Mansour, CEO, CRL Management Limited, said: “With one of the largest housebuilding programmes underway, the sector is entering a period of growth and needs to be creative in finding sites for development if the government’s ambitions are to be achieved.
“At CRL we are committed to supporting the property sector generally and work with a range of housebuilders on their new build projects to ensure that the best possible structural insurance options are available to them.
“We are delighted to be sponsoring the Insider Breakfast North West Housing Breakfast. It is a great opportunity to talk to our existing clients and make new connections to discuss the challenges they face and how CRL can help overcome these.”
On the panel on 24 May will be:
Doug Hann – head of Manchester office, Indigo Planning
Deborah McLaughlin – executive director, HCA
David Smith-Milne – managing director, placefirst
Claire Jarvis – sales director, Redrow Lancashire
Georgina Livesey – director, PJ Livesey
Sam Stafford – strategic land director, Barratt Homes
Mark Waite – strategic planning director, Bloor Homes
Henry Brooks – managing director, Tatton Estate Management
Also up for discussion on the day will be:
- With housing supply still falling behind target in the North West, how can the housing sector create innovative partnerships and joint ventures, which will help reach the required demand?
- What are the changing demands of tenants and house-buyers?
- Which housing schemes are showing innovation in meeting these requirements?
- What changes in design are we seeing within the housing market?
- What are the challenges and opportunities for housebuilders, developers, architects, and investors?
