New prestige family homes set for Alderley Park
Luxury housebuilder PH Homes is set to create 74 stunning family homes in the picturesque grounds of the 400-acre Alderley Park in Cheshire.
Designed by internationally-renowned architect Robert Adam, and ranging in size and style, the homes will be built on three separate parcels of land currently known as The Ride, Linear Park and The Serpentine. The original listed walled gardens, arboretum, water garden and serpentine at the park will provide a spectacular setting for the new homes. They will comprise of semi-detached, detached and mews properties. Prices are expected to be in the range of £500,000 – £2,000,000.
The announcement follows PH Homes acquisition of the first tranche of land for residential development at Alderley Park from its owners, Bruntwood and Manchester Science Partnerships.
Alderley Park has a rich history that can be traced back to the Domesday Book. The estate became the seat of the renowned Stanley family in the 16th century and grew up around a nine-acre lake, Radnor Mere. It later became a home of science companies ICI and then AstraZeneca. MSP acquired the site in 2014 and its redevelopment plan was granted planning approval earlier this year.
The new era at Alderley Park will feature sport and leisure facilities, a gastro pub, hotel and farm shop. For the first time, the local community and residents will be able to enjoy access to the estate parkland, woodland walks and bridle paths.
Chris Oglesby, Chief Executive of Bruntwood and Chairman of MSP, said: “We are so pleased and excited to be making progress and have chosen PH Homes to help us create a distinct 21st century environment where quality of life and quality of work are absolutely paramount. The contrast between the beautiful and peaceful parkland setting and the world class science taking place at Alderley Park is there to be enjoyed. It’s the most attractive residential development site outside of the South East and its wider location is prime Cheshire. Alderley Park also has an attractive sense of place. The landscaping and the quality of the gardens have been loving maintained since the 1950s. We understand the site well and are building a community that balances old and new, science and nature, work and play.”
Philip Hughes, Managing Director of PH Homes, said: “I am thrilled to announce that PH Homes have acquired the first residential phase at Alderley Park. We are delighted to be developing homes in such a stunning environment. The opportunity to purchase a home in such an historic and picturesque setting, yet only minutes away from Alderley Edge is unprecedented. In my opinion Alderley Park will become The Place to Live.”
Construction work on the homes is expected to get underway early in the New Year. The first homes are expected to be available for residents to move in for Christmas 2017.
